MARYLAND DRUM & BUGLE CORPS

HALL OF FAME, INC.

 

PURPOSE

To honor special individuals serving Maryland drum and bugle corps, past and present, for their outstanding and extraordinary service, contribution and/or promotion of  Maryland Drum & Bugle Corps, Fife & Drum Corps, or competing Color Guards.

ELIGIBILITY

 To be eligible for nomination into this unique group, a person must be nominated by an Affiliate of the Maryland Drum & Bugle Corps Hall of Fame, Inc. (DCAM).  A nominee must have been an active member of a Maryland Drum & Bugle Corps, Maryland Fife & Drum Corps, or competing Color Guard for a minimum period of three years and/or been extraordinary in his/her endeavors as a Director, Co-Director, Officer, Administrator, Instructor, extraordinary marching member, special contributing member, and/or longtime active member (as determined by the Council of Directors), of any of the above mentioned organizations, and/or service or serviced, represent or represented these organizations on an International, State, or local level.  Further, any person, while serving active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States of America, that fills any of the above in Maryland positions while serving at a military reservation in Maryland or the District of Columbia, is eligible.

NOMINEES

Eligible nominees are to be submitted by providing a completed Nomination Form along will a full drum corps biography attached and a photograph to the Director of the Council of Selectors.

COUNCIL OF SELECTORS

 Once received, the information provided is reviewed for eligibility and authenticity of all nominees by the members of the Council of Selectors at their meetings throughout the year.  Once completed, a vote is taken and those to be inducted by majority vote.  Only a few are selected each year, and the Director at the annual October meeting of DCAM makes the announcement and a letter of announcement is sent to those announced.  Formal induction is made at the Annual Maryland Hall of Fame Induction Banquet.
